Mount Vernon Exclusive

George Washington was well known for his punctuality - he used the 18th century's most accurate method of telling time: the sundial. Washington's brass sundial, which rested on a wooden post outside the mansion, was made between 1765 and 1785 and was likely to have been imported from England.
