The Shops at George Washington’s Mount Vernon offers fine quality wares and souvenirs; we want you to be happy to own them, and enjoy giving them as gifts to others.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return or exchange it within 30 days of receipt of merchandise. 

Item(s) must be returned unused, in the original packaging, accompanied by proof of purchase or receipt. Please open and fill out the Return/Exchange Form.

Please note that due to the fragility or age of some items and in order to help us prevent fraud, antique monies, vintage jewelry, historic wood bowls and vases are not returnable, and will be stated so in the item description as well.

Additionally, some large and fragile items, such as furniture, lamps, frames and other items may be subject to a restocking fee of 20% and must be returned in original condition.

Damaged Shipments
In the case that your shipment is damaged in transit, Customer Service can arrange prompt returns and replacements.

Damage claims must be made within 5 business days of receiving. Should your order arrive damaged, please photograph any package damages before opening the box, as the shipper may require photographs to file a claim. After a claim is filed, we will do our best to send a replacement out as soon as possible.

Missing or incorrect items received
We have a great team here to process your orders, and are always looking to improve our process; should we miss an item or send the wrong one, please contact Customer Service as soon as possible, via our Shops' phone number or our e-mail: We will make it right, at no additional cost to you.

Order Confirmation
We always advise adding an email address at order checkout; This way, after placing an order online you will receive an email of payment confirmation, and tracking number for the shipment later.

Returning a Gift
We are sorry you received a gift that is not right for you. In this case, we can help you exchange it for another of our products. It is our suggestion that you return the item to us using a tracking number, as we cannot be responsible for packages that do not arrive at our location. Additionally, please note our regular return policies, as items must be in original condition and may be subject to a restocking fee. Shipping, gift-wrap fees, and personalized item charges are non-refundable. 

Back Ordered Items
Occasionally an item ordered online may be placed on back order. We will contact you with an approximate date of shipment for your order to keep you informed; if not satisfied, you may cancel your purchase at any time by contacting Customer Service by phone or e-mail.  

Suspected Fraudulent Orders
If we suspect an order is the result of a stolen credit card, we proceed to cancel the order. Please note: we will report attempted fraudulent orders or multiple declined credit cards to authorities. We reserve the right to cancel any order at any time for any reason.
