Diplomatic Eagle Plate

This porcelain 9 ¼” plate was designed especially for the diplomatic reception rooms of the Department of State and the White House. Diplomatic Eagle plates may also be found in many U.S. embassies around the world.

The design is adapted from Chinese export porcelain, circa 1810, bearing one of the earliest depictions of the American eagle found in ceramic decoration.
