Mount Vernon Birdcage 3D Ornament
This birdcage ornament is a charming addition to any holiday tree, especially for those with a love of nature or birds.
Mrs. Washington and her granddaughter, Nelly Custis, owned many exotic birds such as parrots and cockatoos. Birds were a familiar feature of life at Mount Vernon for at least three decades. As early as April 8, 1773, George Washington purchased a parrot from the captain of a West Indian trading ship that stopped at the estate.
This beautifully colored 3D ornament features a miniature tropical bird hanging inside a decorative birdcage, adding depth and visual interest.
