Uncle Sam Cast Iron Bank
This solid cast iron bank is a reproduction of a highly desirable antique originally manufactured by the Shepard Hardware Co. of Buffalo, NY in 1886. The early representation of the US Government, Uncle Sam, is holding an umbrella in his left hand and is standing next to a red US Treasury bag on a base decorated with a golden American eagle.
By placing a coin in his right hand and pressing the knob on the base, Uncle Sam lowers his arm and drops the money into the bag. Coins can be retrieved by removing the screw on the bottom of the figurine.
This colorful painted cast iron coin bank measures approximately 10.5” H x 4” L x 3.5” D. Provenance card included with purchase.
