Historic Wood Pen
These finely turned pens were created by Doug Dill, master wood crafter in Lanexa, Virginia. Wood for the pens was sourced from three different trees planted at Mount Vernon; a swamp oak tree circa 1771, a pecan tree circa 1850, and a red oak tree, circa 1798.
Pens made from swamp oak trees circa 1771 are completely sold out.
Pens made from white oak trees circa 1783 are completely sold out.
Each pen is unique. The pens are numbered on the interior gold plated barrel; a small card with the number and tree source is included in every gift box. Each pen is accompanied by a numbered certificate signed by the Regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association.
All pens are 5 3/4" long. Color and grain will vary for each pen. Handmade in the USA.
