The front logo showcases one of the many hounds from Mount Vernon during George Washington's time. On the back, you'll find a detailed illustration of George Washington standing in front of his mansion, surrounded by seven of his beloved dogs: Madame Moose, Drunkard, True Love, Sweet Lips, Tippler, Venus, and Taster.
George Washington's estate was home to a variety of dogs, including French hounds named Tipsy, Mopsey, Truelove, and Ragman, along with Greyhounds, Newfoundlands, Briards, and various types of spaniels, terriers, and toy breeds. The playful antics of his dogs, especially the mischievous French hound Vulcan, brought comic relief to the Washington household. Vulcan famously made off with a ham from the kitchen, much to the staff's dismay.
Fun fact: George Washington is credited by the American Kennel Club with developing the American Foxhound breed. This new breed was a mix of hounds imported from England and France, combined with local American stock, and is now the state dog of Virginia.
