Historic White Oak Wood Bowl #180

$1,800.00
SKU: 27782

The unique, almost round bowl is one of the largest historic wood bowls we have ever offered. Wood from this bowl was sourced from a Mount Vernon White Oak tree circa 1783. This towering white oak was in decline until a recent storm blew it over and the wood was saved for truly historic products.

This large, raw edge bowl has beautiful graining on the interior and exterior.  Four “stitches” on the exterior and turquoise inlay make this a spectacular collector’s item.  It measures a substantial 13” in diameter and 8 ½” tall including more than 1” of raw edge banding. Created by master wood crafter Doug Dill of Lanexa, Virginia.  Not suitable for use with water.

This unique collector’s piece is signed and numbered on the bottom and a small card with the tree source and date is included.  The bowl is accompanied by a numbered certificate signed by the Regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association.  Please note that this one-of-a kind item is not eligible for a discount.
