Mount Vernon Ginger Jar Ornament
Since the 18th century, ginger jars have been used for maintaining the correct humidity for storing pipe tobacco. Most ginger jars are porcelain, majolica or bisque, often decoratively painted with brass lids.
Our porcelain polychrome ornament is a colorful adaptation of these originals. This one-piece ginger jar ornament has leaves, flowers, and "Mount Vernon" on both sides with a gold colored faux screw top. The ornament is approximately 2 ¼" tall and 1 ½" wide. Red ribbon for hanging is included.
