Description
"No estate in United America is more pleasantly situated than this," is how George Washington described his Mount Vernon home in 1793. Washington spent most of his adult life designing and improving the mansion overlooking the Potomac River. Hundreds of visitors came to Mount Vernon to meet Washington and admire his stately residence. The mansion achieved its present day appearance by 1799, incorporating such features as the cupola, colonnades, and dependency buildings. For this cross stitch, the west front view of the Mount Vernon mansion is bordered by a repeat shell pattern which is Martha Washington's own design. Finished size is 11 ½" x 7 ¾" on 14 count Charles Craft fabric. Kit includes Charles Craft material, DMC floss, needle, chart, instructions, and a color illustration of the finished project.
Made in the USA.
