Historic Wood Peppermill
These finely turned peppermills were created by Doug Dill, master wood crafter in Lanexa, Virginia.
Wood for the peppermills was sourced from two different trees planted at Mount Vernon; a pecan tree circa 1850 and a white oak circa 1783.
The 4 ½" tall grinding mechanism is fastened to the top of the 5" handmade shaft; overall height is just under 9". The name of the artisan and the source of the wood are engraved on the underside of the mill.
