These finely turned pens were created by Doug Dill, master wood crafter in Lanexa, Virginia. Wood for the pens was sourced from two different trees planted at Mount Vernon; a pecan tree circa 1850 and a white oak circa 1783.
Each pen is unique as there are no two alike. The pens are signed and numbered on the interior gold plated barrel; a small card with the number and tree source is included in every gift box. Each pen is accompanied by a numbered certificate signed by the Regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association.
Pens made from the 1771 swamp oak tree are completely sold out.
All pens are 5 3/4" long.
Color and grain will vary for each pen. Handmade in the USA.
