This wooden doll is individually hand painted and crafted to a likeness Martha Washington. Martha Dandridge Custis was a young widow with two small children when she married George Washington in 1759. Martha spent her married life entertaining diplomats and tending to the household duties at Mount Vernon and teaching her grandchildren needlework, cooking skills and to play musical instruments.

This collector's doll is signed and dated by the designer Mary Michaud. Handmade in America. Not intended for children under 3 years of age. George Washington doll sold separately.
