Historic Wood Gavel
This Mount Vernon historic wood gavel and block was created by Doug Dill, master woodturner in Lanexa, Virginia. Wood for these unique pieces was sourced from either the Mount Vernon White Oak tree circa 1780 or the White Ash tree circa 1830.
The gavel is 12 ½" in length overall. The head of the gavel is 3 ¾" wide and the strike surface is 1 ¾" in diameter. The block is 3 ¼" in diameter.
