Handmade Historic Chestnut Oak Vase #009
The wood sourced for this piece dates to the 1790s. Before falling during a severe thunderstorm on July 6, 2020, this tree was a witness of history on the Mount Vernon estate.
This beautiful oblong-shaped deep bowl features a distinctive raw edge, mesmerizing uneven striated wood grain marks in a wide variety of wood tones and a streak of turquoise on each side, which adds visual interest and color. The bowl is approximately 5 ½” x 7” with sides ranging from 4 ½” x 6” in height, and a 3” wide base.
