The George Washington's Cypher Highball Glass is an elegant addition to any table. George Washington's Cypher, or monogram, is etched on the clear glass with six small stars commemorating Washington's rank as America's only six-star general below the cypher. At his death in 1799, Washington was a three-star lieutenant-general. During the American Bicentennial in 1976, he was posthumously awarded the American supreme rank of general of the armies, this country's only six-star general. Congress passed a joint resolution calling for George Washington to be promoted to the highest possible rank "above all other ranks in the United States Army forever".
The 10.75 oz. highball glass is dishwasher safe and may also be used as a "neat glass". Highball glass is 4" tall, 3 1/4" in diameter at the lip, and 2 3/4" in diameter at the base.
Made in Italy and etched in the USA.
