Taalryk Register, published in the 1700's in Amsterdam, Holland is a set of rare and beautiful books on 18th century plant materials including hand colored engravings by Johann Weinmann. The Taalryk Register is known as one of the first botanical books to utilize color-printed mezzotints successfully. Volumes of this set of books are part of the Mount Vernon Library Collection and many of the illustrated plants were known to General Washington.
