George Washington's Distillery
In 1797 George Washington established the largest whiskey distillery in America. The stone still house included a distilling room outfitted with five copper pot stills and a storage cellar for whiskey. Mount Vernon reconstructed this authentic working replica of Washington's distillery on the original foundation, and it is the only one in the nation to demonstrate the process of making whiskey as it was carried out more than two centuries ago. This Cat's Meow piece is 5 ¾" wide and 3" tall.
