George Washington was an avid gardener with over 6 acres of enclosed gardens surrounding his Mansion. Even though Washington employed a head gardener to attend to flower and vegetable gardens, tree groves, orchard, and greenhouse, he still devoted almost daily attention to the care and improvement of his gardens. Among his flowering trees at Mount Vernon were pink magnolias, just as there are today. This 100% cotton hemstitched napkin is 16" x 16". Pink magnolia blossoms are in each corner with a burgundy colored stripe around the edge.
