Farmers Bank of North Carolina $8.00 Note
This unusual bank note was issued in 1853 in the old coastal town of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The note contains images of George Washington, a sailor, an Indian, and a startlingly realistic portrait of a child and dog. The perforations in the note were added to officially withdraw the money from circulation.
The Farmer's Bank Note is the first $8.00 bill offered for sale at Mount Vernon.
