The Exchange Bank of Norfolk, Virginia, issued paper money from about 1838 until 1865. Date on bank note was handwritten and bank officers personally signed each note. This note is numbered 3769.

George Washington is portraited at left and John Marshal at right. Note also features a vignette of an Indian hunter above the title. On the lower left is a rendition of the State Seal with the Roman Goddess, Virtus
