Don't Tread on Me Hat
This black cotton, six-panel, low profile baseball hat is embroidered with Don’t Tread on Me in white capital letters, a yellow snake design on the front and Mount Vernon embroidered in white capital letters on the left side. Adjustable fabric strap, unstructured, pre-curved bill with a small U.S. flag tag in the back. One-size fits all.
Considered one of the first flags in America, the Don’t Tread on Me flag was presented to the colonies' first commander-in-chief of the Navy by Colonel Christopher Gadsden of South Carolina. The snake had been used as early as 1751 by Benjamin Franklin to express dissatisfaction with British government. It was popularized by others, including Paul Revere.
