Court Jester Marigold: Tagetes patula Court Jester

Place the pot in a location that is warm and bright. Continue growing mix moist but not wet until seeds germinate. After germination, water as needed when the mix starts to dry out. Plant in a flower bed or in a container and place outside in the full sun about 2 weeks after seeds germinate. This annual plant produces showy golden-yellow and burgundy-striped blooms. Space seeds 18-24" apart and cover with ¼" of soil. Seeds germinate in 10-14 days at soil temperatures between 68-70°F.  Deadhead to prolong flowering. The plants grow up to 24 inches tall and wide. USDA Zones 2-11.
