During the Civil War, coins were difficult to come by as people tended to safeguard small change. Stamps were used as a substitute but were fragile so the U.S. government started making small-value paper money which at first resembled stamps.

Washington is portraited on this 10-cent stamp. Nicely preserved, two-sided, crisp and bright specimen - still a U.S. legal tender! Green stamps and back to make counterfeiting difficult.

  • Approximately 2" x 3 ½”
  • Comes in sturdy clear plastic sleeve
  • This is an original note, not a reproduction
  • Antique money is NON-RETURNABLE
