Blue Coco Beans Seed Pack
Blue Coco Pole Bean Phaseolus vulgaris.
This heirloom pole bean is one of the oldest of the purple podded pole varieties, having been grown in France as early as 1775. The plants produce high yields of purple beans that can be eaten young as snap beans or grown to maturity and used as a dry bean. It is a great variety for areas with a short growing season as it is an early variety and it tolerates a range of growing conditions.
Beans grow best in full sun with moist, well-drained soil. Sow beans directly into the ground in spring when soil temperatures are 65° or warmer. Soak beans in water for a couple hours and then sow 3-4 seeds per pole, spaced 2-3 apart and 1 deep. 60 days for green beans, 100+ days for dry beans.
