Bill Clinton's Labrador Retriever "Buddy"
Bill Clinton was the U.S. President from 1993 to 2001. When Buddy, a chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy, arrived at the White House, Clinton's spokesman Mike McCurry told reporters that Clinton got the dog because "It's the President's desire to have one loyal friend in Washington." Although Buddy became well-known for his feud with the Clinton family's feisty cat Socks he was a gregarious and playful dog. He accompanied the president in the Oval Office, on walks on the White House grounds, and on trips to Camp David.
