Description

Alfalfa honey has a delicate light flower aroma and a not-so-overpowering flavor of vanilla with grass undertone. It is the result of the pollination of purple flowers from the alfalfa plants. 

George Washington raised bees at Mount Vernon and enjoyed honey and hoecakes almost daily for breakfast.
