George Washington's copy of The Acts of Congress 1789 was acquired by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association on June 22, 2012 for the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington at Mount Vernon which opened September 27, 2013. Through a special partnership between the National Archives and the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, the book was on display at the thirteen Presidential Libraries of the National Archives from March 2013 through September, 2013, at which time it was returned to Mount Vernon.
