1814 U.S. Penny Antique Coin
This 1814 U.S. penny is very well preserved. The coin design was one of the last editions of this particular design, which makes it very popular with collectors (design minted from 1808-1814). It is one of the rarest coins produced by the U.S. Mint since it was only in circulation for a short period of time. Now is as good a time as ever to get your hands on one!
On obverse, the center is dominated by the left-facing Lady Liberty. In previous years, she was facing the opposite direction. Inscribed within a band on Lady Liberty’s head is the word Liberty. On both the left and right sides of Lady Liberty are a total of 13 stars to commemorate the 13 original colonies of the United States. Year of minting can be found towards the bottom. Beautiful copper color is well preserved.
Reverse: inscription reads One Cent encircled by a continuous ornate wreath. The phrase United States of America is noticeable around coin’s outer edge.
