1809 Silver Half Dollar Antique Coin
Exceptional quality and tone for this truly one-of-a-kind specimen. The first version of the Half Dollar was known as the Bust Half Dollar and was introduced in 1794. It remained in production until the late 1830s.
Obverse features the profile of Lady Liberty. To the left and right sides of Lady Liberty are a total of 13 stars to commemorate the 13 original colonies of the United States. Minted in 1809.
Reverse depicts a reverse silhouette of an eagle with a shield on its chest holding an olive branch and a cluster of arrows. Also inscribed is e pluribus Unum, the motto of the United States, out of many, one.
