This raw edged white oak bowl was created by Doug Dill, master wood crafter in Lanexa, Virginia.
Wood for the bowl was sourced from a white oak that was planted at Mount Vernon circa 1783. After the tree fell, the wood was saved for very special collector pieces.
The raw edged bowl is approximately 10 ¾” x 9 ½” with sides ranging in height from 2 ½” to 5”. Wooden stitching added by the artist help stabilize the bowl and a shot of turquoise from metal oxidation add visual interest.
This unique item is signed and numbered on the bottom; a small card with the number and tree source and date is included.
Your bowl is accompanied by a numbered certificate signed by the Regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. Please note that there are no discounts available for this item.
Handmade in the USA.
