Mount Vernon Collectible Nellie Doll
Eleanor Parke Custis spent most of her youth at Mount Vernon with her grandmother, Martha Washington, and her step-grandfather, George Washington. After her wedding to Lawrence Lewis in 1799, she moved to Woodlawn Plantation, just a few miles away from her happy childhood home.
Mount Vernon's porcelain "Nellie" doll is approximately 12" tall. She is wearing a gold colored dress with pink floral embroidery on the front. Her mob cap is trimmed with lace and embroidered pink flowers. Historical information about Nellie's life is printed on the box. Doll stand included.
