Mount Vernon's Ribbons and Cornflower pattern is adapted from a French porcelain mug originally used by George and Martha Washington. The original mug, which is on display in the museum at Mount Vernon, was made in Paris by Christopher Potter, circa 1790-1795. Washington's keen eye for elegance and fashion attracted him to this handsomely decorated form. The pattern of the yellow band and intertwined ribbons of leaves and flowers with cornflower sprigs decorates each piece.

The Ribbons and Cornflower tea for one is an ingenious self-contained teapot, cup, and saucer: everything you need to make and serve "tea for one" with a bit of flare. The saucer is 7" in diameter, the cup is 4 ¼" in diameter, and when the three parts are together, the entire set is 5" tall.

Terrific for use at home or at the office.
