Historic Red Oak Vase # SL011
Wood for this vase was sourced from a Red Oak tree, circa 1798. This fallen tree stood over the present day Slave Memorial at George Washington's Mount Vernon until 2016.
The round vase is approximately 6” tall and 6 ½” in diameter at the middle, with a base that is 3 ½” in diameter. The top opening of the smooth edged vase in 2” in diameter.
This finely turned vase was created by Doug Dill, master wood crafter in Lanexa, Virginia. This unique item is signed and numbered on the bottom; a small card with the number and tree source and date is included. The bowl is accompanied by a numbered certificate signed by the Regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. Please note that there are no discounts available for this item. Handmade in the USA.
