Handmade Historic White Oak Bowl #200

$695.00
SKU 28426

On Tuesday, July 24, 2018, the white oak tree, circa 1780 dating to Washington’s time fell due to overly saturated grounds. The tree was located away from public access and had lived through the civil war. The wood from this tree was sourced and used to create unique pieces such as this bowl by master wood crafter Doug Dill in Lanexa, Virginia.

The bowl is approximately 7” x 7 ½” with sides ranging in height from 3 ¾” to 4 ½” and finished with a natural edge. Decorative wood stitching added by the artist helps stabilize the bowl which beautifully displays prominent striations and graining.

This unique item is signed and numbered on the bottom; a small card with the number and tree source and date is included. Your bowl is accompanied by a numbered certificate signed by the Regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. Please note that there are no discounts available for this item.

Handmade in the USA.
