William Lee became Washington's personal servant and accompanied the General hunting and travelling and, most importantly spent eight years on battlefields and in military headquarters during the American Revolution. As the colonists win their independence from King George III and the British parliament, William Lee reflects on when he and other slaves will gain their freedom.
